The first Photo of the Day is the one that brought photography into my life. “The Angel of Katrina” is from a house in the Lakeview section of New Orleans, much of which was destroyed by the Hurricane. This photo was published in “Smithsonian” in June, 2006.
The photo is still relevant now. Many New Orleans neighborhoods have still not fully recovered. The oil spill is going to create additional challenges.
Let’s keep the people of New Orleans in our hearts and minds.
